I am an assistant professor of philosophy at Grove City College. Previously, I was a post-doctoral research fellow with the Beacon Project at Wake Forest University. I received my Ph.D. in philosophy from Baylor University, where I wrote my dissertation, Cultivating Character, under the supervision of Robert C. Roberts. My current research areas are ethics, philosophical psychology (moral and intellectual character, emotions), and philosophy of religion, and I have broader teaching interests that also include history of philosophy (especially ancient and medieval), applied ethics, and epistemology. When I'm not philosophizing, I'm usually spending time with my family; when I'm not reading children's stories or building Lego sets, I also enjoy playing guitar, playing tennis, and drinking good coffee.
